ONE Ocean Network Express - informações sobre a transportadora

A Ocean Network Express (ONE), é uma empresa japonesa de transporte de contêineres com sede em Cingapura e Tóquio. Foi formada em 2016 como uma joint venture das companhias de transporte marítimo japonesas Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines e K-Line, herdando as operações de transporte de contêineres de suas empresas-mãe. A partir de 2017, tinha uma frota combinada de 1,4 milhões de TEU.

ONE foi fundada em 2016 como uma joint venture entre Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), e K-Line. Foi formada como parte de um processo maior de consolidação que estava ocorrendo no setor de transporte de contêineres naquela época, afetado por lucros ruins e capacidade excedente. Fundiu as divisões de transporte de contêineres das três empresas, formando a sexta maior empresa de transporte de contêineres do mundo naquela época.

A NYK controla uma participação de 38% na joint venture, enquanto a MOL e a K-Line possuem 31% cada uma. A empresa começou a operar em abril de 2018, com um escritório da holding em Tóquio, sede global em Singapura e sedes regionais em Londres (Canary Wharf), Richmond, Hong Kong e São Paulo, e mais escritórios locais em 90 países, com atividades corporativas e de vendas, já iniciadas em outubro de 2017. Em agosto de 2018, UM deles encomendou mais de 14.000 contêineres refrigerados.

Em dezembro de 2018, a ONE e a PSA International assinaram um acordo para formar uma joint venture no Terminal Pasir Panjang, em Cingapura, para realizar operações de contêineres no terminal, começando na primeira metade de 2019.

A ONE decidiu pintar todos os seus navios e equipamentos de contêineres recém-lançados com uma cor magenta reconhecível e atraente. A idéia da cor magenta foi inspirada nas flores de cerejeira comuns no Japão, onde as três empresas-mãe estão localizadas.
