TNT - informações sobre a transportadora
A TNT Express é uma empresa internacional de serviços de entrega por mensageiro. É uma subsidiária da FedEx, com sede em Hoofddorp, Holanda.
A 26 de Maio de 2011, a TNT Express separou-se da sua empresa-mãe, a TNT NV, e está cotada na Euronext Amsterdam. A TNT NV renomeou-se posteriormente PostNL.
Em Março de 2012, a UPS anunciou a sua intenção de adquirir a TNT Express por 6,7 mil milhões de dólares. No entanto, o negócio foi concluído em Janeiro de 2013, após ter sido anunciado que a UPS não tinha obtido autorização da Comissão Europeia e, como tal, tinha sido bloqueada por motivos de concorrência.
Em Abril de 2015, a FedEx anunciou a sua intenção acordada de comprar a TNT Express por 4,4 mil milhões de euros, uma vez que procurava expandir as suas operações na Europa. A Comissão Europeia lançou uma nova investigação sobre a aquisição planeada. Em 8 de Janeiro de 2016, a Comissão Europeia aprovou o acordo, que foi concluído em 25 de Maio de 2016.
Em agosto de 2017, a TNT Express foi muito afetada pelo ataque cibernético NotPetya, em parte porque algumas operações e sistemas de comunicação estão sediados na Ucrânia, onde o ataque cibernético teve origem. A TNT Express teve que operar usando processos manuais durante um período considerável, criando um grande atraso. Alguns registros foram completamente perdidos.
