Air France Cargo - Informationen über den Spediteur

Air France-KLM S.A., auch bekannt als Air France-KLM Group, ist eine französisch-niederländische Fluglinien-Holdinggesellschaft nach französischem Recht mit Sitz am Flughafen Charles de Gaulle in Tremblay-en-France in der Nähe von Paris. Die Gruppe hat Büros in Montreuil, Seine-Saint-Denis, Paris und in Amstelveen, Niederlande. Air France-KLM ist das Ergebnis der Fusion zwischen Air France und KLM im Jahr 2004. Sowohl Air France als auch KLM sind Mitglieder der SkyTeam-Allianz. Die gleichnamigen Fluggesellschaften des Unternehmens stützen sich auf zwei große Drehkreuze, den Flughafen Paris-Charles de Gaulle bzw. den Flughafen Amsterdam-Schiphol. Air France-KLM Airlines beförderte im Jahr 2014 87,3 Millionen Passagiere.

Am 5. Mai 2004 wurde Air France-KLM durch die einvernehmliche Fusion zwischen Air France und der in den Niederlanden ansässigen KLM gegründet. Infolge der Transaktion wurde der Anteil der französischen Regierung an Air France von 54,4% (der früheren Air France) auf 44% (der kombinierten Fluggesellschaft) reduziert. Sein Anteil wurde anschließend auf 25% und später auf 17,6% reduziert. Zum Zeitpunkt der Fusion im Mai 2004 boten Air France und KLM zusammen Flüge zu 225 Zielen in der Welt an. In dem am 21. März 2003 endenden Jahr beförderten die beiden Unternehmen zusammen 66,3 Millionen Passagiere.

Im Oktober 2005 legten Air France Cargo und KLM Cargo, die beiden Frachttochtergesellschaften der Gruppe, ihre kommerziellen Aktivitäten zusammen. Das Joint Cargo Management Team betreibt die Organisation nun weltweit von den Niederlanden aus.

Bei einer Öffnung für eine Mehrheitsübernahme der verlustbringenden Alitalia im Jahr 2007 war Air France-KLM einer von drei Bietern und wurde vom Verwaltungsrat von Alitalia begünstigt. Am 2. April 2008 wurde jedoch berichtet, dass die Verhandlungen abgebrochen worden seien. Nach der Übernahme von Alitalia und Air One durch die Compagnia Aerea Italiana am 12. Dezember 2008 war Air France-KLM erneut am Erwerb einer Beteiligung an dem neu fusionierten Unternehmen interessiert. Am 12. Januar 2009 erwarb Air France-KLM für 323 Millionen Euro einen Anteil von 25% an diesem Unternehmen.

Im Jahr 2008 war sie gemessen an den Gesamtbetriebseinnahmen die größte Fluggesellschaft der Welt und auch gemessen an den internationalen Passagierkilometern die größte der Welt.

Air France-KLM führte zusammen mit ihrem Partner Delta Air Lines Gespräche über Investitionen mit Japan Airlines, die Teil der Oneworld-Allianz ist (Konkurrenz zu SkyTeam), aber finanzielle Probleme hatte. Air France-KLM erörterte zusammen mit Delta und Deltas Rivalen American Airlines (AMR Corporation, Teil von Oneworld) Investitionen in Höhe von 200-300 Millionen Dollar, um der finanziell angeschlagenen Fluggesellschaft zu helfen, die gemessen an den Einnahmen die größte Fluggesellschaft Asiens ist. Das japanische Ministerium für Land, Infrastruktur, Transport und Tourismus hatte Air France-KLM und/oder Delta wegen ihrer im Vergleich zur AMR Corporation "gesunden" Finanzlage als Partner empfohlen. Delta wurde auch wegen ihres umfangreichen asiatischen Netzwerks empfohlen, das durch die Übernahme von Northwest Airlines erworben wurde. Korean Air, ebenfalls ein SkyTeam-Mitglied, war ebenfalls in Gesprächen mit JAL. Air France, Alitalia, China Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Korean Air und Vietnam Airlines sind SkyTeam-Mitglieder, die derzeit Code-Sharing mit JAL haben. Am 7. Februar 2010 berichteten mehrere Nachrichtenagenturen, dass JAL beschlossen hat, seine Allianz mit American Airlines beizubehalten und die Gespräche mit Delta zu beenden. Berichten zufolge entschieden der neue CEO von JAL, Inamori, und Beamte der ETIC, dass ein Wechsel der Allianz (von Oneworld zu SkyTeam) zu riskant sei und JAL daran hindern könnte, die Fluggesellschaft schnell zu sanieren. Am 9. Februar 2010 gab JAL offiziell seine Entscheidung bekannt, seine Partnerschaft mit American zu stärken, was den gemeinsamen Antrag auf kartellrechtliche Immunität auf Transpazifikstrecken einschloss. Die Fluggesellschaft plante auch, ihre Beziehungen zu anderen Partnern in der Oneworld-Allianz zu stärken.

Im Februar 2011 arbeiteten Air France-KLM und Delta Air Lines zusammen, um ein Angebot für Virgin Atlantic zu prüfen, da Richard Branson einen Anteil von 51 Prozent hatte und der Rest von Delta gehalten wird.

Im August 2011 wurde Air France-KLM als eine der 10 sichersten Fluggesellschaften der Welt kategorisiert.

Im Dezember 2013 verkaufte Air France-KLM ihre Tochtergesellschaft CityJet an Intro Aviation.

Anfang April 2016 trat Alexandre de Juniac, Vorsitzender und CEO seit dem 1. Juli 2013, zurück und wurde am 4. Juli 2016 durch Jean-Marc Janaillac ersetzt.

Im Januar 2018 berichtete Jean-Marc Janaillac vor dem französischen Senat für 2017 über höhere Einnahmen aufgrund einer steigenden Flottenauslastung und eines schnelleren Wachstums in der Zukunft sowie über einen besseren Betriebsgewinn mit 6% für die Gruppe (Air France 4%, KLM 9%), der jedoch hinter den 9% von Lufthansa und 10 bis 12% von British Airways zurückbleibt, während er die Gepäckabfertigung und die Sicherheit von Paris-Charles de Gaulle bedauerte, die auf Warteschlangen warten, Verbindungen behindern und ein schwieriges Jahr 2018 mit steigenden Kerosinpreisen und der Konkurrenz von Fluggesellschaften aus der Golfregion, Turkish Airlines, chinesischen und asiatischen Fluggesellschaften sowie von Billigfluggesellschaften wie easyJet, Volotea, Ryanair oder Langstreckenfluggesellschaften voraussehen.

Ende 2018 wird Air France-KLM seine Mittelstreckenflotte als Ersatz für Air France, HOP!, KLM und Transavia auswählen und 120 Boeing 737 NG, 118 Airbus A320ceo-Familie, 64 Embraer E-Jets, 25 Bombardier CRJ700-Serie und 13 Embraer 145 betreiben. Nach der Erneuerung ihrer Langstreckenflotte mit dem 787 Dreamliner und dem A350 XWB ab 2019 werden die Spezifikationen im ersten Trimester veröffentlicht. Dazu werden Vorschläge von Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier Aerospace und Embraer eingeholt, die auf einen geringeren Fluglärm und einen geringeren Einsatz von Biokraftstoffen abzielen.

Am 4. Mai 2018 kündigte Jean-Marc Janaillac an, dass er als CEO von Air France-KLM zurücktreten werde, nachdem die Beschäftigten ein neues Gehaltspaket abgelehnt hatten.

Am 16. August 2018 gab der Verwaltungsrat von Air France-KLM die Ernennung von Benjamin Smith zum neuen CEO bekannt. Er hat sein Amt bei Air France-KLM am 30. September 2018 angetreten.

Am 26. Februar 2019 gab die niederländische Regierung bekannt, dass sie "12,68 Prozent der Anteile an Air France-KLM erworben" habe und "plant, ihren Anteil auf rund 14 Prozent aufzustocken".
