Cyprus Post - Informationen über den Spediteur

Die Cyprus Post ist eine organische Abteilung des Ministeriums für Verkehr, Kommunikation und Arbeit. Sie hat die Aufgabe, einen universellen Kurierdienst in ganz Zypern zu einheitlichen und erschwinglichen Preisen und ohne Diskriminierung anzubieten.

Sie bieten eine breite Palette von Dienstleistungen an und verfügen über ein ausgedehntes Netz von Postämtern in allen städtischen Gebieten sowie in mehreren ländlichen Gebieten. Über das Netz der Postagentur werden allen zypriotischen Gemeinschaften Postdienste angeboten.

Geschichte

Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte hat sich gezeigt, dass die Postgeschichte eines Landes direkt mit seiner Geschichte verbunden und untrennbar mit ihr verbunden ist. Die Postgeschichte Zyperns ist so lang und leuchtend wie seine Geschichte. Nur sehr wenige Nationen weltweit können sich ihrer reichen Traditionen im Bereich der Postkommunikation so rühmen wie Zypern. Seine geographische Lage am Schnittpunkt dreier Kontinente im östlichen Mittelmeer, wo es als Kreuzungs- und Versorgungsstation für Schiffe fungierte, machte den Betrieb von Postdiensten bereits Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts n. Chr. zu einer Notwendigkeit, um die Grundbedürfnisse im Bereich des Personen- und Warentransports zu decken, insbesondere nach der Besetzung der Insel durch die Lusignaner und später durch die Venezianer, die die stärkste Seemacht ihrer Zeit waren.
