OnTrac ist ein Logistikunternehmen in Privatbesitz, das regionale Versanddienste im Westen der Vereinigten Staaten in Auftrag gibt.

Das Unternehmen wurde 1991 unter dem Namen California Overnight in Kalifornien gegründet. Es entstand aus der Übernahme mehrerer kleiner kanadischer und amerikanischer Kurierunternehmen und expandierte in sieben weitere Bundesstaaten: Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado und Idaho. Die ersten Kunden waren Dokumentenversender, die eine Alternative zur Übernachtzustellung in Kalifornien gegenüber nationalen Spediteuren suchten. Ihr derzeitiges Versorgungsgebiet umfasst 20% der Bevölkerung der Vereinigten Staaten.

OnTrac ist die schnellere und kostengünstigere Alternative für die Paketlogistik. Versender kleiner Pakete entscheiden sich für OnTrac, weil wir den Bodenservice ohne die zusätzlichen Kosten für den Expressversand beschleunigen können. Wir haben eine reiche Servicegeschichte - sie ist die Grundlage unseres Engagements für unsere Kunden.

OnTrac startete 1991 als California Overnight, eine Abteilung seiner inzwischen 60 Jahre alten Muttergesellschaft Express Messenger Systems, Inc. EMS entstand aus der Übernahme mehrerer kleiner kanadischer und amerikanischer Kurierunternehmen und sah die Gelegenheit, einen erschwinglicheren Next-Day-Service von Los Angeles nach San Francisco anzubieten.

Die ersten Kunden von California Overnight waren Architekten und Anwälte, und wir wuchsen schnell, um anderen Branchen dabei zu helfen, ihre Logistikausgaben zu reduzieren, ohne den Next-Day-Service zu opfern.

Wir expandierten nach ganz Kalifornien und fügten dann 1996 Nevada, 1997 Arizona und 2005 Oregon und Washington hinzu. Wir wussten, dass wir über Nacht dem Namen Kalifornien entwachsen waren, und begannen mit den Vorbereitungen für eine Namensänderung.

Kalifornien Über Nacht, OnTrac & 65 Millionen Verbraucher

Im Jahr 2008 änderte Kalifornien über Nacht seinen Namen in OnTrac. Es war der Name unserer Versandsoftware, die bereits seit über einem Jahrzehnt im Einsatz war. OnTrac markierte das erste Jahr seines neuen Namens, indem es den Dienst nach Utah eröffnete. Im Jahr 2011 kamen Colorado und 2013 Idaho hinzu.

Der 8-Staaten-Servicebereich gab den Kunden die Möglichkeit, schnell über 65 Millionen Verbraucher zu erreichen, ohne die von anderen Unternehmen erhobenen Zusatzgebühren zu zahlen.
