China Cargo Airlines - información sobre la compañía

China Cargo Airlines, es una aerolínea de carga con sede en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Hongqiao en Shanghai, República Popular China. Es la primera aerolínea de carga de China que opera servicios dedicados a la carga utilizando la estructura de rutas de China Eastern Airlines. Su base está en el Aeropuerto Internacional Hongqiao de Shanghai, con un centro de operaciones en el Aeropuerto Internacional Pudong de Shanghai.

La aerolínea se estableció el 30 de julio de 1998 e inició sus operaciones en octubre de 1998. Se fundó como una empresa conjunta entre China Eastern Airlines (70%) y China Ocean Shipping (30%), y sigue siéndolo. Adoptó brevemente el título de China Eastern Airlines Cargo y volvió a su nombre original después de convertirse en una filial independiente en 2004.

Su empresa matriz China Eastern Airlines llegó a un acuerdo para inyectar más capital a la aerolínea de carga. Su participación cayó del 70 por ciento a poco más del 51 por ciento. La participación de China Ocean Shipping se redujo al 17 por ciento. Esto permitió que Singapore Airlines Cargo invirtiera hasta el 16 por ciento de la aerolínea de carga. Además, EVA Air también compró una participación del 16 por ciento de la aerolínea.

En 2011, China Cargo Airlines fusionó sus operaciones con Great Wall Airlines y Shanghai Airlines Cargo. Las dos aerolíneas se rebautizaron progresivamente como China Cargo Airlines.
