ONE Ocean Network Express - informazioni sul corriere

Ocean Network Express (ONE), è una compagnia di trasporto container giapponese con sede a Singapore e Tokyo. È stata costituita nel 2016 come joint venture delle compagnie di navigazione giapponesi Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines e K-Line, ereditando le operazioni di trasporto container delle società madri. Nel 2017 aveva una flotta complessiva di 1,4 milioni di TEU.

ONE è stata fondata nel 2016 come joint venture tra Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) e K-Line. È stata costituita nell'ambito di un più ampio processo di consolidamento che si stava verificando all'epoca nel settore delle spedizioni di container, caratterizzato da scarsi profitti e capacità eccedentarie. Essa ha fuso le divisioni di spedizione container delle tre società, formando la sesta più grande compagnia di spedizione container del mondo in quel momento.

NYK controlla il 38% della joint venture, mentre MOL e K-Line ne possiedono il 31% ciascuna. La società ha iniziato la sua attività commerciale nell'aprile 2018, con un ufficio di holding a Tokyo, una sede centrale globale a Singapore e sedi regionali a Londra (Canary Wharf), Richmond, Hong Kong e San Paolo, e ulteriori uffici locali in 90 paesi, con attività aziendali e di vendita, già iniziate nell'ottobre 2017. Nell'agosto 2018, UNO ha ordinato oltre 14.000 contenitori refrigerati.

Nel dicembre 2018, ONE e PSA International hanno firmato un accordo per la costituzione di una joint venture presso il terminal Pasir Panjang di Singapore per condurre operazioni di trasporto container nel terminal, a partire dalla prima metà del 2019.

La ONE decise di dipingere tutte le sue navi e le attrezzature per container appena varate in un colore magenta riconoscibile e accattivante. L'idea della tonalità magenta è stata ispirata dai fiori di ciliegio comuni in Giappone, dove si trovano le tre società madri.
