LBC Express - informations sur le transporteur

LBC Express, Inc. (anciennement connue sous le nom de Luzon Brokerage Company) (PSE : LBC) est une société de messagerie basée aux Philippines.

Elle exploite des services réguliers de fret de véhicules commerciaux dans le cadre de services aériens de fret actuels et prévus à partir du 31 mai 2014. En 2016, LBC compte plus de 1 252 agences aux Philippines et plus de 60 agences aux États-Unis et au Canada. Elle possède également des succursales à Hong Kong, au Brunei, en Malaisie, à Singapour, au Japon, en Allemagne, aux Émirats arabes unis, en Espagne, au Koweït, en Corée du Sud et à Taïwan.

Luzon Brokerage Company a été fondée par la famille Araneta en 1945 en tant que société de courtage. Avec l'aide de ses fils Juan Carlos, Santiago et Fernando, Araneta a développé l'entreprise familiale et s'est lancée dans l'activité d'agent de fret aérien, puis de prestataire de services d'expédition aux clients. En tant que prestataire de services d'expédition tiers, la société est chargée d'expédier les envois par l'intermédiaire de transporteurs basés sur des actifs et organise l'espace d'expédition pour ses clients. La société a continué à développer ses services logistiques en 1973 et a introduit plus tard dans le pays des services de livraison 24 heures sur 24 ou de nuit.

En 1985, la première succursale de LBC à l'étranger a été créée à San Francisco, en Californie, aux États-Unis. Parallèlement à l'ouverture de sa succursale américaine, la société a introduit la célèbre "Balikbayan Box" et son service de transfert d'argent pour répondre aux besoins des travailleurs philippins à l'étranger (OFW).

Le nom "Hari ng Padala" a été créé par la société en 1990. Des produits tels que l'enlèvement en succursale et le paiement de factures ont été ajoutés en 2005. Le service de courrier plus sécurisé pour les documents personnels, les marchandises en vrac et le chargement de conteneurs a été introduit en 2010. En plus des services personnels, la société a également élargi sa portée et sa cible, les propriétaires d'entreprises.

En 2009, la société a suscité une controverse à cause d'une publicité représentant un concours d'orthographe où un enfant épelle les initiales "L-B-C" pour "remise", "abordable" et "instantané". Jesli Lapus, alors secrétaire du ministère de l'éducation, a exprimé sa déception face à cette publicité et a demandé à la société de retirer cette publicité qui a suscité une "réaction négative du public pour avoir transmis un mauvais message". Exprimant son inquiétude quant aux effets de la télévision sur les enfants, Lapus a en outre souligné qu'il existe des alternatives pour développer davantage la reconnaissance de la marque, déclarant que "la méthode utilisée dans cette publicité particulière de la LBC peut avoir des conséquences négatives non intentionnelles sur l'éducation des jeunes téléspectateurs" et "ne contribuerait certainement pas" à l'éducation des jeunes étudiants.
