TAP Air Portugal Cargo Tracking 047 - informations sur le transporteur

TAP Air Portugal est la compagnie aérienne nationale du Portugal, dont le siège se trouve à l'aéroport de Lisbonne, qui lui sert également de plaque tournante. TAP - Transportes Aéreos Portugueses - est membre de Star Alliance depuis 2005 et effectue en moyenne 2 500 vols par semaine vers 90 destinations dans 34 pays du monde. La compagnie dispose d'une flotte de 100 avions, tous fabriqués par Airbus à l'exception de 22 fabriqués par Embraer et ATR, opérant pour le compte de la compagnie régionale TAP Express.

En juin 2015, la compagnie a été semi-privatisée et est devenue majoritairement détenue par l'Atlantic Gateway Consortium, dirigé par David Neeleman, qui a fondé JetBlue et Azul Brazilian Airlines et co-fondé WestJet, avec l'entrepreneur portugais Humberto Pedrosa. L'Atlantic Gateway Consortium a acheté 61 % du transporteur au gouvernement portugais le 24 juin 2015, avec une option d'achat des 34 % restants du gouvernement portugais en 2018. Cet accord a été entouré de controverse car il a été conclu à la fin du mandat du gouvernement de centre-droit avec une large opposition des employés de la TAP.

En octobre 2015, un nouveau gouvernement de gauche a cherché à rendre à l'État la majorité du contrôle de la compagnie aérienne, ayant signé en février 2016 un accord avec le consortium privé, qui indique que la compagnie est détenue à 50 % par l'État portugais, à 45 % par le Consortium Atlantic Gateway et à 5 % par les collaborateurs et employés de TAP Air Portugal. TAP Air Cargo effectue en moyenne 2 500 vols par semaine, et dispose d'une flotte moderne et sûre de 80 avions de transport de fret.
