GEODIS E-space - information about carrier

GEODIS is an around the world transportation and logistics leader that supports customers in their everyday work by helping them overcome their logistical restraints. GEODIS is ranked seventh in the world and 4th in Europe.

In 1995 Calberson, along with its abroad operations, along with the business Bourgey-Montreuil, and other non-rail freight businesses of SNCF-Sceta, were integrated into Compagnie Générale Calberson which was renamed as Geodis. The Geodis group was subsequently privatized in 1996.

A collaboration with the German air and sea freight company Rohde & Liesenfeld begins in 2002 leading to its acquisition and incorporation into the subsidiary Geodis Wilson in 2008. The business ended up being Geodis Wilson in 2007.

In April 2008 SNCF made an offer for 57% of the shares in Geodis, (having initially had a 43% stake) at 462 million euros, hence taking control of the company and effectively re-nationalizing a company that had been privatized twelve years previously. The quote was authorized by the French stock exchange regulator AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers) in May.
