TNT Express is a worldwide courier shipment services company. It is a subsidiary of FedEx, with its head office in Hoofddorp, Netherlands.
On 26 May 2011, TNT Express separated from its moms and dad business, TNT NV, is noting on the Euronext Amsterdam. TNT NV consequently renamed itself PostNL.
In March 2012, UPS revealed its intent to acquire TNT Express for $6.7 billion. However, the deal failed in January 2013, after it was revealed that UPS had actually stopped working to obtain approval from the European Commission, and as such, had been obstructed on competitors grounds.
In April 2015, FedEx announced its agreed objective to buy TNT Express for EUR4.4 billion, as it looked to broaden its operations in Europe. The European Commission launched a further examination into the organized acquisition. On 8 January 2016, the European Commission approved the offer, and it was finished on 25 May 2016.
In August 2017, TNT Express was terribly impacted by the NotPetya cyberattack, partly since some operations and communication systems are based in Ukraine, where the cyber attack originated. TNT Express needed to operate utilizing manual procedures for a substantial period developing huge stockpiles. Some records were totally lost.
