What articles cannot be sent overseas by LaserShip?

LaserShip cannot send articles that fall under the following categories: Alcoholic Beverages, Animals and Animal Products; Human Remains; Live animals (including insects); Narcotics & Substances in Table I or Table II of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs 1961 as amended by the 1972 Protocol amending the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs 1961.

  • trip cancellation/interruption protection covering non-refundable fares after travel has commenced but before departure date set at time ticket purchased (with a limit up to $2500).

How much does LaserShip cost?

LaserShip is a ground shipping carrier that specializes in delivering small packages. They have four different services: Standard, Expedited, Xpresspost, and Priority. Each of the services has its own price level depending on how fast you need your package delivered to you.

In one event from 2016, a LaserShip delivery guy was caught on tape tossing a $500 video camera lens several lawns onto a poured-concrete deck. In March 2017, a client caught on tape a delivery man tossing a plan containing a router, damaging the contents, and reported the incident to Lasership.

In February 2018, a LaserShip driver discarded a package onto the lawn of a Naples, Florida, resident prior to continuing to run over an orange tree sapling in her front lawn while quickly executing a three-point turn. The resident caught the event on a surveillance video camera and reported the story to WINK News.

At 5:19 PM on 7 July 2019, a LaserShip employee was captured on tape providing a plan and then taking a Coach bag from the garage of the delivery destination consisting of $1,600 in electronic devices.

Misclassification and nonpayment of drivers

In April 2014, the company reached a class-action settlement of $800,000 with motorists in Massachusetts who accused the business of misclassifying them as independent professionals. In November 2015, a class-action suit was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York alleging that workers were rejected overtime payments, was unlawfully rejected made payment, and for other violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act. The outcomes of this litigation are pending.

In June 2019, LaserShip was purchased to pay almost $600,000 to chauffeurs in New Jersey who had actually been classified as independent contractors after an examination by the United States Department of Labor.

Cigarette settlement

In September 2014, LaserShip reached a $5 million settlement with the city of New York over deliveries of untaxed cigarettes.
