What is my parcel ID or number?
Yodel parcels have tracking IDs in the format of YODEL-12345-1234.
The easiest way to find the tracking number on your Yodel package is by checking its packaging. For Yodel parcels, you can find a barcode sticker with the following information:
- Company name: Yodel Sameday;
- Tracking number (YODEL-1234567890);
- Package type: Parcel;
- A unique barcode number for each Yodel shipment (YODEL123456789012).
After you have found your tracking ID, paste it into the label box. Click 'Get Tracking'. This will redirect to a page where you can track your package on various shipping services such as UK Mail and Hermes.
If it does not have any stickers attached then ask for one from customer service when they are delivered and write down the information shown on it.
Why is there no tracking for my parcel?
If you have not received any shipping notifications, it is possible that your shipment has not been sent yet. Yodel will only send a tracking number once the package leaves their warehouse and enters transit to your location. For this reason, they recommend contacting them if you require an update on the status of your specific shipment.
In cases where when a parcel is collected or dispatched from one post office but doesn’t end up at another depot, then unfortunately it can’t tell you which stage it was left at.
I have received a Yodel card with a parcel reference number on it. What should I do next?
If you have received a Yodel card with the parcel reference number on it, then this means that your package has already been shipped. You will need to wait for the Yodel delivery driver to bring your shipment to you.
Does Yodel text before delivery?
Yodel doesn't text. They will actually deliver your item to the address you've specified, whether it's a home or business. However, if your package is too big for them to leave at the door (generally anything larger than about 30cm in height), they'll try and find another way to get into contact with you before leaving the parcel on-site—for instance, by calling through to someone at that location who can take delivery from there or perhaps even trying back later when potentially during office hours instead of just abandoning it right away.
How long does Yodel take to deliver?
Yodel takes around two days to deliver. If you need your package faster, then it is possible to pay an extra fee for next-day delivery. In some cases, Yodel will drop off packages without sending any emails or notifications at all and.
What happens if you miss a Yodel delivery?
Yodel is one of the largest postal service providers in Europe. They cover more than 900 destinations and deliver packages from online shops to homes all over Great Britain, including Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. If you forget about a Yodel delivery or miss it completely for some reason, there may be consequences because they are considered very important by their standards - as well as by customers who receive them!
Sometimes, when a package is missed on the first attempt, Yodel will put it back into their delivery route. If you miss your package for the second time - and there are no other recipients in one of the closest family homes nearby - then it is returned to the sender. It can also happen that if any items are missing from a parcel or box full of goods, they may come back too as partial parcels. This means that if you ordered multiple things online and only got some of them delivered through Yodel, chances are good that one more item might arrive soon with another courier company!
Is Yodel expensive?
Yodel is one of the cheapest providers in Europe, so that’s not a problem. However, the free delivery time often takes up to a month and that’s too long for most people who need their parcels delivered more urgently.
About Yodel
Tracking Yodel is a UK-based company that has been around since 1969. It used to be one of the major players in the industry, but it lags behind its competitors as far as innovation and customer service go. The company’s main advantage is its well-spread network across Europe with more than 20 warehouses and 18 delivery offices placed all over the United Kingdom. Having this many distribution points makes shipping packages via Yodel very easy for customers - they can send anything from lightweight items (such as documents) up to heavy products such as furniture or bicycles without worrying about time spent on delivering them.
Yodel's history is full of mergers and acquisitions like those with DHL in 2007 or TAS in 2009. In 2012 Yodel was acquired by a US-based eCommerce company, the Home Delivery Network Inc., which is a subsidiary of UPS. The merger made it possible for both companies to provide better service (in particular home delivery) while still keeping their individual brands intact.
The Yodel is a unique package carrier that delivers about 12 million parcels each year! This means that their customers can expect to see an improved service.
Services Yodel offers are:
- Home Delivery - Yodel offers door to door delivery service with up to 21 days of transit time.
- Business Parcels - small and medium parcels sent directly from businesses for their customers or vice versa. Transit times vary depending on destination, but most packages should be delivered within 24 hours after dispatch in the UK area only. All other services can take more than a week for delivering.
Yodel is not really customer-friendly as it takes 20 business days (excluding weekends) to process any claims and returns if they were initiated by the receiver who wants his money back due to receiving damaged goods etc., which makes it one of the slowest couriers out there when compared against players like UPS Courier or DHL Express.
Yodel has been criticized in the past for late deliveries, poor customer service, and missing or lost packages (which can even happen several times within a single week).
Other services Yodel offers are:
- International Parcels Service- sending parcels worldwide with a transit time of up to 21 days. Tracking is available but it only shows progress until the parcel leaves the UK area after that it's impossible to track the item anymore. This happens because once your package left United Kingdom country its handed over to different couriers which makes tracking almost useless unless you know the exact delivery date for example if the driver will be passing through a certain road on a specific day then there is a chance he might pass by the house where receiver lives so this would mean possible pick up.
- Courier Services - with the most popular service being Yodel Same Day Delivery which is available in selected areas but more about that later.
Returns and Claims: If you’re not happy with the services provided by Yodel or if your package has been damaged during transport, it can be returned or claimed within 20 business days from the dispatch date for UK customers (28 calendar days). For international parcels, the deadline to return goods delivered after purchase is 56 calendar days. These deadlines might seem very long at first glance but they are there for a reason as these couriers have warehouses all across Europe so returning items outside of United Kingdom will take even longer than usual due to the time required for shipping back. takes no more than 14 working days.
Yodel is a delivery service company in the United Kingdom and is among the largest couriers along with Royal Mail. It was initially called the Home Delivery Network, till it acquired the B2B and B2C operations of DHL Express UK and afterwards, rebranded itself as Yodel in May 2010. It is privately owned by the billionaire Barclay Brothers.
House Delivery Network operated as the logistics department of Shop Direct Group until it demerged in June 2008. It was formed by the merger of Business Express and Reality, the former Littlewoods and Shop Direct shipment companies respectively. Yodel has centers at Shaw, Hatfield and Wednesbury.
In December 2011, the London Evening Standard brought a story on reports of bundles from Yodel being lost or not delivered on time for Christmas. Yodel stated that there had been a great increase in December shipment over the previous 2 years which Yodel had delivered over twenty million bundles that month, with 999 out of 1000 being provided on time.
In March 2012, the BBC's Watchdog customer program broadcast a section highly crucial of Yodel. In January 2014, Yodel was voted as the worst delivery service in the United Kingdom for the second successive year. BBC Watchdog says that it continued to frequently get reports of bad service after the rebranding to Yodel.
In January 2014, Yodel was named the "worst parcel delivery firm" in a survey by MoneySavingExpert.com, of 9,000 individuals, with 78% of consumers rating their experience negatively. Despite this, Yodel continues to be the delivery business of choice for lots of major sellers in the United Kingdom, mainly due to the company's inexpensive costs.
The company said sorry in November 2015, after among the firm's couriers had left a parcel on the roofing of a client's home. In February 2016, Yodel was featured in a Dispatches investigation, which aired on Channel 4.
The program sent out an undercover press reporter to work at Yodel as a sorter. In May 2019, Yodel announced it would spend ₤ 15.2 m on its fleet, to decrease the ecological impact of its delivery operations.
