MSC Tracking Shipping Container
MSC is an acronym for "Multi-Modal Shipping Container." It's a type of international freight shipping, and it uses ships to transport containers. Containers come in many different sizes, ranging from 20 ft to 53 ft (its height on land), and can be loaded onto trucks and trains as well as ships. When you're tracking MSC shipments through 100parcels.com service, the carrier responsible for transporting your container will vary depending upon its final destination; if your shipment goes by sea or air, then either Maersk Line Limited (a Danish logistics company) or CMA CGM Group (French multinational ocean transportation corporation) will handle it respectively.
When you're shipping something with a 20 ft to 53 ft container, the first thing that must be done before your shipment can travel overseas is for it to make its way onto a ship. Containers are loaded from ships into containerships using cranes and trucks. This process takes place at ports, where cargo is received or delivered by truck or train as well as being put on/taken off of ships' decks via port equipment such as barges, lighters (which transport goods between vessels), hopper-unloaders (transport bulk material) and gantry cranes (a crane supported by two fixed beams). Ports also handle unloading and storage: once an item has been unloaded from a vessel's deck, it must be processed through customs.
Once your shipment's container has arrived at the port, it will either wait for space to become available on a vessel or will begin its transit process if there is room left in the container's hold or deck. Cargo that must travel by sea typically does so via "liner" services (also known as containership service), which are operated by shipping lines/carriers such as Maersk Line Limited and CMA CGM Group. Once cargo arrives at its final destination, it may either go out onto another ship, where it will continue to move towards its final destination; alternatively, some shipments stop moving altogether once they reach their first domestic port of call.
When you're tracking MSC packages through 100parcels.com service, or any other type of international shipping for that matter, it's important to keep in mind the different types of transit methods used for transporting goods overseas (e.g., containerized sea transport) as well as how they work (i.e., via containerships).
MSC Bill of Lading (BOL) Tracking
MSC Bill of Lading (BOL) Tracking is one of the most important and time-consuming stages during MSC shipments. The main reason for this is that it takes a lot of time to receive your BOL – up to 20 or even 30 days.
All you need is -Your reference number (it can be found on the top of the document and in email). If you do not have it please contact MSC's Customer Service;
If the status on our website doesn't change for more than 15 days there are two possible reasons:
- The shipper/carrier has already mailed out your package;
- There was some problem with it (for example, wrong or incomplete address).
You should check these facts before contacting MSC's Customer Service team.
About MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company)
Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC) is a Swiss-Italian global shipping line. The business operates in all significant ports of the world. It is the world's second-largest shipping line in terms of container vessel capacity.
Since completion of December 2014, MSC was operating 471 container vessels with an intake capacity of 2,435,000 twenty-foot comparable units (TEU). It has actually a department called MSC Cruises that focuses on vacation cruises. MSC was founded in Naples in 1970 as a personal company by seafaring captain Gianluigi Aponte when he bought his very first ship, Patricia, followed by Rafaela, with which Aponte began a shipping line operating in between the Mediterranean and Somalia. The line consequently expanded through the purchase of second-hand cargo ships. By 1977, the company operated services to northern Europe, Africa and the Indian Ocean. The growth continued through the 1980s; by the end of the decade, MSC ran ships to North America and Australia.
In 1989, MSC bought the cruise liner operator Lauro Lines, relabelled to Mediterranean Shipping Cruises (MSC Cruises) in 1995, and consequently increased the cruising service.
In 1994, the line purchased its very first freshly constructed ships, which were delivered starting in 1996 with MSC Alexa. They were constructed by Italian shipbuilder, Fincantieri.
Since October 2014, Diego Aponte (son of MSC founder Gianluigi Aponte) was called president and primary executive of MSC, taking over from his dad who was called group executive chairman. Gianluigi Aponte would continue to manage all group-related activities in addition to supporting Diego in shaping the future of MSC.
As one of the world's leading container shipping lines with head office in Geneva, Switzerland, MSC runs 480 offices across 155 countries worldwide with over 24,000 workers. MSC's shipping line sails on more than 200 trade paths, calling at over 315 ports.
MSC operates vessels with a capability of approximately 23,756 TEU, including (since 2019) the world's two largest container ships, MSC Gülsün and MSC Samar. The business stays independent and wholly owned by the Aponte household under the leadership of Diego Aponte who was appointed President and CEO by his daddy and company founder Gian Luigi in October 2014.
