The Postal Service pertained to Grenada throughout colonization by the British in the eighteenth century. Till January 23th, 1997 the Post Workplace functioned as a department within the Ministry of Communications and Functions.
The Grenada Postal Corporation was developed by Act 21 of 1996 which began on January 24th, 1997 to offer postal services on a strictly commercial basis. It operates 47 sub-offices islandwide.
The Corporation shall, in accordance with the policies identified by the Board, offer postal services throughout Grenada so as to satisfy all reasonable demands or prepared for demands for such services on a strictly commercial basis.
The Grenada Postal Corporation employs approximately 150 workers to serve its customers.
