About Israel Post

Israel Post is the national postal service of Israel. It provides a variety of services including regular letter delivery and standard parcels, international express mail, money order payments, online shopping for stamps and postcards among other things. The three main pillars are:

core postal services in rural areas;
long distance/international mailings;
and retail activities (stamps).

The company was founded by Ben Gurion on 24 May 1948 as one of the first steps taken to establish an independent state after World War II. Services were limited initially to only four zones: Jerusalem-Tel Aviv-Haifa-Beirut with just two branches operating at night from Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Street location while another opened its doors during the day from Haifa.

Israel Post has a long and rich history, tracing its roots back to the Ottoman Empire.
